Public Resources (Lifelong Learning)

Undip regularly provides access to free educational resources for the general public in the form of: a) Integrated laboratory for sample testing with SNI ISO/IEC e.g. Octane, Cetane and Gas Chromatography; b) Summer and short courses in each department and/or study programme, e.g. Socio-technological Power in Digital Technology, Economics and Business International Camp and Courses for Sustainability; c) Online, through Undip TV Official/offline webinars e.g. Legal Problems of Interfaith Marriage, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment and Understanding Knee Osteoarthritis: Beyond the Medicine; d) Certified Training e.g. Mangrove and Seagrass Community Condition Assessor, Radiation Protection and Safety, Medical Imaging; e) Biodiversity and SDGs education, e.g. Campus Forest (rare plants), Livestock Breeding, Deer Park and SDGs Mini Park; f) an updated research repository and library; g) Sports stadium (e.g. football, tennis, badminton, shooting), hospital.

Undip, at the unit levels, organizes events for public, both nationally and internationally, including: a) short courses, e.g. Resilient Communities in cooperation with the University of Hawai'i, Discovering Sustainable Green Energy Technology, b) General lectures and lecture series, e.g. Blue Economic Literacy, Survival Leadership, Mass-based Transportation Systems, where activities also involve collaboration with the government and private sector such as Ministry of Transportation, Logistic Agency, c) International Conferences, consisting of 11 conferences, e.g. the 9th ICENIS (Energy, Environment, and Information System), the 6th INCRID (Sustainability and Community Development), the 6th ICISPE (Social and Political), the 8th ICTMHS (Medicine and Health) and the 8th ACISE (Industrial and Engineering). A number of plenary sessions were broadcast live on UndipTv, d) Scientific journals of 7 Scopus and WOS indexed journals, 97 accredited journals, and 38 DOAJ indexed journals.

Undip regularly organizes certified short training services for the public in the social and exact fields, e.g: a) English course and TOEFL test in collaboration with the British Council, b) Taxation, c) Democracy School in collaboration with KITLV Leiden, LP3ES, Paramadina University and INDEF, d) Environmental Impact Analysis Training for basic skills, document preparation and quality assessment of environmental impact documents, e) Radiation protection and safety, f) Vibration measurement and diagnosis, (g) medical image processing, h) heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), and i) Work at Height Training. Engineering training is managed by the Training Centre, while other areas are managed by the relevant faculties such as the Faculty of Cultural Study, Vocational Sciences and Business Economics.

Educational Outreach Activities Beyond Campus

Undip organized off-campus education by lecturers and students, also student activity units, for the public and even on an international scale. The lecturers implement community development at least twice a year that involves students in every community service programe, both regular and thematic. The Community Service Programe provides education to empower public economically and have a better quality of life also provide innovative tools. There is internal and external funding from national and international donor institutions for these programes. The community service program e.g. molecular modelling, desalination of brackish water into potable water, automatic feeders for freshwater fish farming, energy saving lighting, and increasing traditional herbal medicine production. The student programes e.g. good governance of village services, personal branding, WebGIS public facilities, Microsoft Office. The programs are published in scientific journals, mass media and social media.

Lifelong Learning Access Policy

Undip, as a world-class university, guarantees equal access to education without distinction of ethnicity, religion, country and gender, as stated in the Domestic and International Student Admission Regulations, which are updated annually, as well as the Policy on the Use of Access to Education for the Public. Undip provides facilities for disabled people to access all its services, and there are even scholarships for disabled people. There is also an affirmative programe for poor and disadvantaged areas. This policy of providing access to education is also stated in the Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy, Utilization of Learning Access for the Public.
