Current Collaborations with Health Institutions

Active collaboration between Universitas Diponegoro and the Semarang City Government in the Climate-smart Village program based on One Health demonstrates an integrative approach to addressing public health challenges at the local level. The program targets reductions in priority zoonotic diseases such as dengue fever, leptospirosis, and malaria. This cross-sector collaboration examines the impacts of climate change, including tidal flooding on environmental health and develops pilot models that can be replicated in the Semarang area. This community-based approach results in increased community capacity and the adoption of healthy-environment practices, while also laying the policy foundations for sustainable management of climate-affected areas.

The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro, continues to strengthen its national collaboration network to enhance the quality of education, services, and innovation in the health sector. The signing of a tripartite cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP, Dr. Kariadi Central General Hospital, and Dr. Ben Mboi Hospital in East Nusa Tenggara represents a tangible form of interprovincial collaboration aimed at knowledge sharing, expanding training access for specialist doctors, and improving health service quality for communities across Indonesia. This synergy reflects UNDIP Faculty of Medicine's commitment to supporting national health advancement through strategic partnerships with health institutions across the country.

Universitas Diponegoro and UNICEF have established a strategic collaboration to improve health and well-being in Central Java. This partnership focuses on developing health intervention programs, such as behavior change communication strategies for stunting prevention that highlight six key behaviors and improve nutrition literacy. Together with the media, both institutions strengthen public awareness on malnutrition prevention. Other activities include workshops on maternal and perinatal death data analysis in Cilacap Regency, as well as collaborative education and advocacy aimed at building stakeholder capacity. This global cooperation demonstrates UNDIP's strong commitment to advancing community health and welfare.

Health Outreach Program

Health Outreach Program

Universitas Diponegoro organized a free medical treatment program for hundreds of residents in Teluk Awur Village, Jepara, as a form of community service to the local community to improve and promote community health and well-being. The team of lecturers and students from UNDIP's Faculty of Medicine provided general health examinations, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, as well as free health consultations. This outreach program also included health education on healthy lifestyles, nutrition, and prevention of non-communicable diseases. The activity aimed to raise community awareness about the importance of early disease detection, particularly for coastal residents who have limited access to health services. This program is one of various forms of UNDIP's commitment to making real contributions to improving the quality of life and well-being of local communities through accessible and sustainable health services.

Universitas Diponegoro, through LPPM, implements a responsive health program for disadvantaged communities affected by flooding at Asshodiqiyah Islamic Boarding School, Gayamsari, Semarang. The program targets vulnerable groups who have lost access to health services due to the disaster, including 500 santri (students) of the pesantren and residents around Rusunawa Sawah Besar. Interventions include providing basic needs to maintain hygiene (basic food supplies, bathing equipment), as well as free medical services targeting 300 residents with the involvement of doctors, nurses, and students as volunteers. The participatory approach, by involving students in the Community Service Volunteer program, not only delivers direct health services but also raises awareness about the importance of emergency health responses for disaster-affected populations.

Shared Sport Facilities

Shared Sport Facilities

Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) offers a wide range of comprehensive and well-maintained sports facilities that support physical activities, fitness enhancement, and the development of athletic achievements among the academic community and the general public. These facilities serve not only as venues for sports but also as centers for recreation, training, and the organization of competitive events at both national and international levels. Some facilities, such as the jogging track and the Undip Educational Reservoir popular areas for exercise and leisure are freely accessible to students and the public. In addition, the Undip Stadium features an international-standard football field, an athletics track, and spacious spectator stands. Other sports facilities, including the basketball hall (GOR Basket), tennis courts, and futsal hall (GOR Futsal), are fully equipped for professional-level training and competitions, and are available to the public for an additional fee.

Free Sexual Health Care for Students

Free Sexual Health Care for Students

Universitas Diponegoro facilitates comprehensive access to sexual and reproductive health services for students through various programs and free resources. One of these is LPKB UNDIP. To prevent violence and bullying, UNDIP established the Institute for Protection from Violence and Bullying (Lembaga Perlindungan dari Kekerasan dan Perundungan/LPKB UNDIP). LPKB UNDIP is a semi-autonomous institution under the auspices of the Directorate of Student Affairs at Universitas Diponegoro that operates in the field of prevention and handling of violence and bullying within the Universitas Diponegoro environment. LPKB UNDIP was established in 2023 with the aim of creating a safe, comfortable campus environment free from violence and bullying. UNDIP also provides free consultation services for students and staff regarding sexual and reproductive health at Diponegoro National Hospital.

Mental Health Support

Mental Health Support

Universitas Diponegoro organized a peer counselor training program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) in June 2024 as an active promotion initiative to strengthen mental health support for students. This program was designed to equip UNDIP students with knowledge and skills in providing mental health support through a peer counseling approach. The training covered essential topics including basic counseling techniques, mental health issue recognition, stress management, and prevention of sexual violence. By training students as peer counselors, UNDIP created an accessible mental health support system where students can seek help from their peers in a comfortable and non-stigmatizing environment. This peer counseling initiative represents UNDIP's commitment to actively promoting good mental health among students through a sustainable support mechanism. The program not only provides students with access to mental health support but also empowers them to become agents of change in creating a mentally healthy campus environment. This approach is particularly effective as peer support has proven to be more approachable for students experiencing mental health challenges.

Universitas Diponegoro provides a Student Consultation Department as an institutional commitment to offering free access to mental health support for all students. This service can be accessed through UNDIP's official portal, which provides clear information on how to access various types of consultation, including mental health counseling. The Student Consultation Department offers professional counseling services that are easily accessible to students at no cost. The portal functions as effective signposting, making it easier for students to find and access the mental health support services they need. These services cover consultations related to academic, personal, social, and mental health issues.

Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Programs

Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Programs

FISIP Wellness Unit at Universitas Diponegoro takes practical steps in providing promotive and preventive mental health support for staff through PPKS socialization and mental health literacy programs. This initiative actively ensures staff access to mental health education, featuring talks from professional psychologists and interactive skills sessions aimed at daily mental well-being. Institutional support and enthusiastic staff participation highlight UNDIP's dedication to building a healthier and safer campus atmosphere. Such efforts not only give short-term benefits but reinforce a lasting culture of mental health awareness in the university. The program fulfills the principle of actively promoting mental health and providing direct access to mental health support for staff, strengthening well-being and resilience among university personnel.

Mental health is a vital aspect for the smooth operation of campus activities. In addition to physical health, Universitas Diponegoro also pays special attention to the mental well-being of its staff and students. UNDIP ensures that students and staff receive high-quality counseling services delivered by professional counselors. The launch of a mental health screening application utilizing the Self Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ) method developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) demonstrates UNDIP's strong commitment to creating a healthy work environment that supports the balance between work and mental health for the entire academic community.
