Semarang, 26 June 2025 — After nine weeks of community service in various locations, hundreds of students from Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) who participated in the 2025 Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have officially returned to campus. The closing ceremony was held on Thursday morning, June 26, 2025, at the Integrated Laboratory Unit (UPT Lab Terpadu) UNDIP in Tembalang — the same venue where the program was launched in early May.

The event began at 7:00 AM with participant registration and distribution of refreshments. Students were then directed to gather in formation based on their respective groups in front of the UPT Lab building. The ceremony was attended by the Head of the SDGs Center UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto, S.T., M.Si., along with a representative from the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM UNDIP), Prof. Dr. Achmad Zulfa Juniarto, M.Si.Med., MMR., Sp.And., Ph.D., who represented the LPPM Chair. All field supervisors were also present to welcome the students back after completing their service.

The 2025 KKN-T SDGs UNDIP program provided a practical platform for more than 300 students to apply their academic knowledge to real-world community challenges. Through five flagship initiatives spanning environmental, social, food, and economic empowerment issues, students actively contributed to building local solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Strategic programs carried out during the KKN included the use of eco-friendly technology for mangrove seedling and coastal rehabilitation, the development of healthy campus canteens, fish waste processing initiatives, the empowerment of maritime cooperatives in Bonang Subdistrict, and the enhancement of community-based waste management education at UNDIP’s Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST).

With the conclusion of this year’s KKN-T, students are expected to carry forward the values of collaboration, social empathy, and sustainability into their academic endeavors and future professional careers. This closing event marks not the end of learning, but rather the beginning of a continuous journey of long-term contribution to society and sustainable development in Indonesia.
